Are they the same?: The difference between a MetroCop and an OverWatch Soldier are that MetroCops are normally found in the more populated area or the area that is not known for having heavily armed adversaries, meanwhile OverWatch is sent to patrol the Higher danger level areas. they are not the same because MetroCop's are more for possible civilian threats and OverWatch is for known threatening areas. Write a 20-line roleplay example: /radio dispatch we have spotted possible contacts in the sewer area. /me signals to his patrolling parter with his gun raised pointing down the corridor with his hand pointing forward with his thumb down. (When we are in cover) /me motions to partner by putting his hand on his throat and then putting his fists on his chest (when in contact with enemy's) /me points to self and then he puts up his hand horizontally and then waves his other hand downwards repeatedly in front of it. (When all known contacts are down) /me puts hand on throat and and makes an ok symbol with his hand. (When heading back) /radio dispatch conflicted has ended awaiting further command. (Receives order to patrol sewers) /radio 10-4 dispatch heading out now. /me spots civilian on his route. /radio dispatch I have found a civilian in the sewer engaging now. /me checks civilian body for weapons or anything. Character backstory: Ross Kosivike is German, he transferred over to this base because of the more intense rebel threat. Before he signed up for the CCA he was a simple farm hand to his father, later on after his father died (which by the way was his only surviving family left) he drew into a deep depression, so much so he just wanted to end it all. He talked to his friend, Thomas about it and Thomas said "you know if you want to die that bad you should just go join the army or something you'll die eventually" then in that moment him and Thomas saw these weird spaceship looking things dropping from the clouds. And then they started seeing people running from the village screaming because they where being shot at by (what we didn't know at the time) combine soldiers in the town. Later, when it was said that the Combine had taken over the whole earth, Ross and Thomas where on there knees in the town square along side the rest of the village. So the combine explained that they where the new rulers of earth by killing anyone who tried to run or try to stand up against them. when it was all said and done, the combine kept a close eye on them. They feed them, let them use their old homes and kept them safe from monsters that would try and kill them. But Ross wasn't satisfied, he wanted something more fulfilling then sitting around until the next wave of antlions or rebels came, so he mailed a request to their towns overseer to ask if he could join his forces. the overseer accepted his request and he was put into the augmentation process. now he's had about 7 years of experience and is finally ready to serve the combine army.

Your terminology in your RP example is a little /too/ CP, and if you're going into OTA you will be expected to have a fireteam character, so I'd like to see an example where you operate as a DAGGER, SPEAR or MACE unit to ensure to me you're aware of how these units operate and RP. Next, OTA is not controlled by a central computer. They are not robots, they are heavily augmented humans with all non-combat and non-protocol related memories replaced. I'd advise you play around on the server more, join CP, and once you've recieved experience in their operation, apply again.[/color]
